PointeTango is not just another dance company; it is a groundbreaking ensemble that has carved a niche by merging the worlds of Ballet and Tango. Founded by Prima Ballerina Erin Scott Kafadar and Innovative Choreographer Alexander Richardson, PointeTango explores the question: "What happens when Classical Ballet meets Argentine Tango?" The result is a new dance vocabulary known as “Pointetango,” which respects the Traditional Argentine Tango embrace while introducing the precision of Ballet Pointe Shoes.

Erin Scott Kafadar and Alexander Richardson, both extensively trained in Classical Ballet and Argentine Tango, have developed a unique style that pushes the boundaries of dance. PointeTango’s performances are characterized by their intimate yet bold choreography, offering a fresh perspective on both dance forms. The company is renowned for being the only one in the world to perform authentic, improvised Argentine Tango on Pointe Shoes.

In 2024, Payadora won the prestigious Weltmusikpreis Ruth Award and will be performing at the renowned Rudolstadt World Music Festival in July, followed by a summer tour of Poland and Austria. This fall, they will tour Atlantic Canada with Debut Atlantic, and in January 2025, they will bring “TANGO APASIONADO” to Florida, with performances in Miami, Key West, and Palm Coast.

Since its inception in 2013, Payadora has graced the stages of numerous prestigious venues and festivals, including the National Arts Centre, Ottawa Chamberfest, Toronto’s Harbourfront Centre, Stratford Summer Music, Vancouver Island MusicFest, and the Toronto Jazzfest. They have also collaborated with orchestras such as the London Symphonia, Cathedral Bluffs Symphony, and the Hannaford Street Silver Band.

Parking
FREE parking is available in the lots adjacent to the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center in front of the Aventura Community Recreation Center and the Aventura City of Excellence School.

Valet service is available for most performances at $20 per vehicle. Valet parking is located at the main entrance of the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center in the circular drive. There is a convenient drop-off area in front of the building.
