November 21, 2024

Welcome to the 68th Annual Hollywood Beach Candy Cane Parade. Registration is now OPEN to include your holiday float in the 68th Annual Hollywood Beach Candy Cane Parade! Don’t miss your chance to be a part of one of the country’s longest-running holiday parades, rolling down the beautiful Hollywood Beach Broadwalk on Saturday, December 7th at 7:00 p.m. Space is limited!

What began as a creative initiative back in the mid-1950’s by a group of enterprising Hollywood merchants has blossomed into one of the longest-standing holiday parades in the nation. The inaugural parade was conceived as a clever strategy to entice patrons to peruse the local shops and businesses. Over the decades, this simple yet ingenious idea has grown into a beloved tradition, captivating audiences with its array of brilliantly illuminated floats and vehicles.

Today it features dozens of lighted floats and vehicles along the parade route entertaining the thousands of spectators who line the Broadwalk.

The parade begins at 7:00 p.m. on the Hollywood Beach Broadwalk at Missouri Street and heads south to Harrison Street. Guests are also encouraged to bring a lawn chair for top-notch viewing of the parade floats, marching bands and creative displays from civic, non-profit and children’s groups, or reserve a table at one of the many seaside restaurants.

The parade’s emcee will be stationed at the Hollywood Beach Theatre at Johnson Street. This year's theme is "Your Favorite Children's Christmas Movie!"

Parade participants are being asked to “Help Keep Hollywood Beautiful” by handing out candy to parade goers, rather than throwing it from floats. This will help reduce waste on the Broadwalk and sandy beach. Parade goers can also pitch in by bringing reusable water bottles.

Due to the high demand for parking on the barrier island, beginning at 5:00 p.m., parade goers are encouraged to park in one of the Downtown Parking Garages and take the free patron shuttle to the beach. The Downtown Parking Garages are located at 19th Avenue at Polk Street and 20th Avenue at Van Buren Street. Shuttles will circulate non-stop throughout the evening with the last shuttle leaving the beach at 10:00 p.m. Downtown Parking Rates apply.

Hollywood’s signature holiday event, the Candy Cane Parade is presented in partnership with the Hollywood Community Redevelopment Agency and the Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts.
