Hollywood Celebrates Veteran’s & Active Duty Service Members With A Free Barbecue On Veteran’s Day

The City of Hollywood will host the Annual Veteran’s Day Barbecue on Monday, November 11th at TY Park, located at 3300 North Park Road, Hollywood, Florida 3302 in the Corporate Pavilion #12, beginning at 12:00 p.m. The barbecue will honor Hollywood men and women who are currently serving or are Veteran’s of the armed forces. Each year, the members of the Hollywood City Commission help serve food and greet local veterans in a celebration of their service.
All Hollywood military personnel, Veteran’s and one guest are invited to enjoy a complimentary meal featuring classic barbecue dishes, including barbecue chicken, hamburgers, baked beans, coleslaw, corn on the cob, fruit salad, cookies, brownies, and a variety of beverages. In addition to great food, the event includes a recognition ceremony and a banner plane fly-over with a message of gratitude to those who have served.
Veteran’s with a Military ID or Form DD214, along with one guest, will receive FREE Admission. Capacity is limited to 500 guests, so early reservations are encouraged. Hollywood Beach Sweep Saturday, November 9th
Join volunteers to gather every second Saturday of the month from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. to collect litter and cigarette butts from the sandy beach.
Volunteers meet at Charnow Park at Garfield Street and the Broadwalk at 7:00 a.m. Please complete the Registration Form available on the City’s website at: www.hollywoodfl.org. Children ages 8 and older are welcome to participate when accompanied by an adult. Gloves and garbage bags will be provided to all volunteers along with safety instructions. Please dress appropriately, wear sunscreen and bring a completed Registration Form. Don't forget, plastic water bottles are prohibited on Hollywood Beach, so bring a reusable water bottle instead.
